The present is happy.
"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present"
~ Master Oogway, from "Kung Fu Panda" movie.
I can say that I’m getting somewhat "baked" (as a designer), meaning my professional identity is finally beginning to take shape. As my life as a bachelor’s student comes to a close, I can confidently say that I haven’t just learned a lot; I’ve truly evolved.
From how I act in a team to my shifted focus toward researching the core of a problem, I’ve become a more multi-faceted designer. More importantly, I’ve found my direction and no longer approach university work just to get it done, I do it out of genuine passion.
I’ve discovered that my flavor of design lies in combining physical products with psychology. Promoting specific behaviors through tangible means brings me the most satisfaction and consistently delivers the kind of results I aim for.
One shortcoming I’ve come to recognize is my drop in motivation when the environment lacks the same level of dedication I bring. When working alone, like in my Final Bachelor Project, I tend to either lose myself in the process and chase tangents or make drastic pivots.
These traits might make me seem unpredictable from the outside, but when my impact-driven mindset and focus on behavior are taken into account, my next steps usually make perfect sense.
