The past is funny.

Looking back, my growth over the past years is clear. I shifted from prioritizing simplicity at all costs, often sacrificing key features, toward a mindset focused on identifying the root of a problem before seeking impactful solutions. I’ve moved beyond rushing to execute ideas from generic brainstorming sessions and learned to value deep problem analysis and targeted design.

I’ve also changed significantly in how I work with others. I used to dominate team discussions, dismissing input that didn’t align with my view. My understanding of design was narrow, limited to product design alone. But over time, I’ve made conscious decisions to challenge that mindset through exploring different disciplines, embracing collaboration, and broadening my perspective. These changes have helped me grow not just as a designer, but as a teammate and thinker.

These activities include the self-initiated honors project to gauge how it is to work in a multidisciplinary team, my internship at Omron Industrial Automation to see how a multinational works, my prospective startup to understand entrepreneurship and time efficiency and many more.
